| One of 10 children, Alberts attended Roxborough High School and worked on boats in Villas, NJ, before deciding to make a career of the Army. He was stationed in Germany before being assigned to Company B of the 2nd Battalion, 8th Calvary, 1st Calvary Division (Airmobile), in Viet Nam. The 28-year-old sergeant died on August 27, 1966, in Quang Tri Province. Alberts was survived by his wife, son, parents, seven brothers and two sisters.
