Colin Frank Jackson is on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Panel 20E Line 029.

Colin joined the Marines after he graduated from Thousand Oaks High School in 1966. Enlisting to serve was a prideful event for him. He was gone within the year - his death was reported in the Conejo News, May 1967. Colin was the first Marine fatality in the Vietnam war from Thousand Oaks, California.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 16 May 1967 the 3rd Bn, 4th Marines returned to the Dong Ha Combat Base, Vietnam, from Okinawa in order to conduct operations along the Demilitarized Zone.

On 18 May 1967 Dong Ha was hit by a barrage of 140mm rockets which killed eight men and wounded dozens more. The dead were
