Sgt Fredrick E. Larsen, 25, of Sparks, has died in Vietnam as the result of wounds received in action against enemy forces. He died March 5.
A native of Fallon, he had attended schools in that community before moving to Sparks in 1954. He then attended Sparks High School and was graduated from there in 1961.
He was the son of Mrs. Eva Sandman, of 1340 Zephyr Way, Sparks, and Lawrence Larsen, of Aberdeen, Wash.
Sgt. Larsen joined the U. S. Army in February 1967. He had been in Vietnam since November 1967.

In addition to his parents, survivors include sisters Louise Jones, of Ranier, Ore., and Emma Lee Gillie, of Zephyr Cove; his step-father, Harry Sandman, of Sparks.
Grandparents Mabel E. Nickerson, of Ventura, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Larsen, of Elkton, Ore., and step-grandparents James P. Sandman, Ogden, Utah, and Mrs. and Mrs Orville Coop, of Elko.
A military funeral service will be conducted in Fallon, the date and time to be announced by the Austin Funeral Home.
The service will be in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Fallon.
