A Note from The Virtual WallFebuary 1968 - With the Tet Offensive in full swing, Marine Lieutenant Nicholas Warr led 1st Platoon, C Company, 1/5 Marines, into battle in the Imperial city of Hue.As described in his book "Phase Line Green", Charlie One entered the fray with 51 Marines; 13 walked out. Overall, First Battalion, 5th Marines, lost 71 men while fighting within Hue; many others were wounded severely enough to be medevaced out. Of the 71, fifteen Marines were from Charlie 1/5:
