SP5 James Washington Matthews was born on January 1st, 1948 in Nashville, North Carolina. He was drafted into the Army. SP5 Matthews served our country until August 15th, 1970 in Vinh Long, South Vietnam. James (Ray) graduated from Red Oak High School who dated and married Barbara Evans. He was 22 years old when he died from Cancer.
