You live on in my heart, memories of you as strong today as when they were created. My husband and sons know your story, know what a vibrant and loving young man you were, know that we lost one of America's best the day you died. You will live on in our hearts and minds, generation to generation your life will be remembered. Our love for you goes on forever. I attended my first Mike 3/7 Reunion this year and was blessed to meet your Marine "brothers". I felt you there with me as these men honored each of the Mike 3/7 Marines killed in action. Year by year the names are read and the bell tolls to signify your loss, each man remembered, each honored. My heart is at peace now because your "brothers" chose to share their stories, allowed me to tell yours and welcomed me into the family of Mike 3/7 with open arms and hearts. Thank you to all of you wonderful Marines.

Mom has shared so many great stories and memories of you it's hard to talk about them without shedding tears... I take every chance I get to tell friends and family about you and what you did for our great country... We truly lost an amazing soldier that 28th day of june... I will never forget what you and your "brothers in arms" have done to keep America free... Your memory lives on in each and every person you touched... Here it is almost Memorial Day 2006. How the years have flown. Wanted to stop in and pay my respects to you and your loved ones who all miss you very much. It seems like just yesterday that we all reported for Boot Camp in the summer of 68. Tomorrow we will all reflect on the sacrifices that you and many other men and women have made on our behalf. Thank you for your Service, Mike, and God Bless.

Uncle Mike, I never met you! I was not even thought of then. My mom married your brother Charles. I have not seen or heard from my father in years. However I have the utmost respect for servicemen who lived and died serving our country. I know I would love you like I had known you for all my life. I just wanted to say thanks with the utmost respect dedicated to you!

Uncle Mike, I am sorry that it has taken me so long to come here and write to you. I have come here many times, but I wanted to do this when I was ready. This is hard for me and affects me in a way that nothing else does. Though I never knew you, you have touched my life in such a huge way through the stories and the memories of people that had the honor of knowing you tell. You are honored by so many that love you and miss and carry you in their hearts. It is hard to hear your name or see your face on a picture without feeling a sense of saddness. I would have never thought that someone I never met could be so close to my heart. My Mom has always spoken of you to us, even when we were just kids. It wasn't until I became older that I truly understood what she was telling us all along. She loves you with every bit of her heart and misses you more then anyone will ever understand. I too have served my country and have seen the effects of war. I have always had a sense that you were looking over me and protecting me from harm's way to ensure that I was returned to my family safely. I want you to know, Uncle Mike, that you are always in my thoughts, in my heart, and I look forward to the day that I can finally meet the man I have heard so much about. Thank you for the sacrifice that you gave so others may live. You are truly a Hero. I love you.
