It's been 33 1/2 years, buddy. Holbrook, Sergeant Mescher, Giangroso and I are trying to get together next month. I wish you were there to join us, brother. I remember how you and I ate that Gallo Salami my Mom sent us from San Francisco the day before we got hit. Us Nor-Cal boys had to stick together... Gotta go now, 'Gunner'.

A Note from The Virtual WallFrom the 3/7 Marines Command Chronology for February 1969:"During the period 22-28 February 1969 the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines was engaged in heavy contact with NVA forces throughout the [Tactical Area of Responsibility]. This contact was in conjunction with the enemy TET offensive." ... Fourteen men from Lima 3/7, including the Company Commander, were killed in action during the engagements outlined above:
